The Ponytail is one of the most common hairstyles in the world, and many can look quite good in them. For this week’s poll, the Japanese anime character database, Charapedia, has asked 10,000 fans (53.7% male, 46.3% female) which female anime character looks best when rocking a ponytail. Here are their Top 20:

The lovable former Student Council President and School Idol, Eli Ayase, takes the #1 spot in this poll, and it ain’t even surprising at all, given the popularity of both Love Live! and Eli herself. Meanwhile, close behind at #2 is the always-lovable Popura Taneshima, whose ponytail is actually one of the most iconic in the anime world.

Another iconic ponytailed character in Charapedia’s list is Kyouko, while Haruhi, who seldom wears ponytails herself, surprises a lot of people as she takes 4th place.
