After topping several notable manga rankings last year, Chika Umino’s critically-acclaimed manga, March Comes in Like a Lion, finally gets a much-deserved anime adaptation, as announced by Young Animal Magazine’s issue #2.
According to the announcement, Shaft will be the one responsible for animating March Comes in Like a Lion, and Akiyuki Shinbo, the director behind Bakemonogatari, Nisekoi, and Madoka Magica, will be the one directing it. This new anime will also be a TV anime, which will be premiering on NHK.
March Comes in Like a Lion has been noted for winning a lot of awards, including the grand prize for the Osamu Tezuka Prizes back in 2014. The manga follows a Shougi player named Rei, who befriends a family who owns a lot of cats, most notably Akari, Momo, and Hinata. More announcements about this new anime adaptation will be revealed in the days ahead.
