Guts is back, and this time, he will be returning as the dreaded Black Swordsman for the latest TV anime adaptation of Kentarou Miura’s popular fantasy manga, Berserk. The manga has been infamous for being both violent and brutal, and a new PV for the anime teases how violent and brutal this new TV series might just be.
Remember, this is still the PV and already there is a fair amount of blood. The video also features the anime’s OP song, “Inferno” by 9mm Parabellum Bullet. Also revealed is the anime’s new key visual:
This latest Berserk anime is slated to premiere in 1 July, with LIDEN FILMS producing the animation. Kentarou Miura, who is also serving as the show’s over-all supervisor, will also come back from his hiatus as a mangaka, with the long-running-yet-hiatus-riddled source manga returning as a monthly series on 24 June via Young Animal Magazine, exactly one week before the anime’s premiere episode.
