A photo showing the wrap-around jacket for Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul: re manga Volume 7, which is scheduled for release on 17 June 2016, has revealed that a live-action film adaptation for Tokyo Ghoul is being planned.
Not much information has been revealed by the jacket so far, but it did say that more details on the live-action movie adaptation will be revealed in the next issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine.
Since this is an early look at an announcement that is scheduled to be revealed on 17 June, there is still no official confirmation from mangaka Sui Ishida or Shueisha, which serializes and publishes both the Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: re manga, on whether this live-action movie adaptation is real or not. But if it is true, Tokyo Ghoul is the latest among many popular manga and anime that are recently getting live-action movie adaptations, like Rurouni Kenshin, Lupin III, Assassination Classroom, Parasyte, Attack on Titan, and the upcoming Full Metal Alchemist movie.
And if it is confirmed to be real, expect many fans of Sui Ishida’s bestselling action-horror manga to be very much excited.
