Time sure flies fast because it’s already June, and that means that some of this season’s crop of anime will be ending soon, but fret not, because this also means that the new Summer 2016 anime season is right around the corner.
For this week’s Charapedia poll, the Japanese anime character database asked 10,000 fans (53.7% male, 46.3% female) to vote for which anime from the upcoming Summer 2016 season are they most excited about. Of the 45 entries in the poll, only the Top 20 were announced, and they are:
20 – Orange
19 – Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE!
18 – Amaama to Inazuma
17 – Active Raid Season 2
16 – Mob Psycho 100
15 – Qualidea Code
14 – Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION
13 – Kono Bijutsu-bu niwa Mondai ga Aru!
12 – NEW GAME
11 – ReWrite
10 – Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak Academy
9 – ReLIFE
8 – Handa-kun (Barakamon prequel spin-off)
7 – The Seven Deadly Sins -Signs of Holy War- anime special
6 – D.Gray-man Hallow
5 – Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 3rei!!
4 – The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance
3 – Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan
2 – Shokugeki no Souma: The Second Plate
1 – Love Live! Sunshine!!
Given the immense popularity of Love Live!, it comes to no surprise that Love Live! Sunshine would take the top, but will the AQUORS live up to their predecessors? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain, the new anime comes into the season with a whole lot of hype. Shoukegi no Souma, The Geroic Legend of Arslan, Fate/ Illya, and Danganronpa placing in the Top 10 is also unsurprising.
However. a few surprises have also not made it from the list, including Berserk, which did not make it to the Top 20, while D.Grey-man Hallow failed to make it to the Top 5.
