The huge Fantasia Bunko thanksgiving event has made some huge announcements, and one of them is that Ryo Mizuno’s Grancrest Senki/Record of Grancrest War light novels are getting adapted into a TV anime. The author is also the one behinf the Record of Lodoss War (1988-) and Rune Soldier (1998-) light novels.
The story of Record of Grancrest War is set in a continent dominated by chaos. It tells an adventure of lonely genius magician Shiruka and knight Teo to seek “Grancresto” (literally means the emperor’s sacred stamp) that is considered as the crystal of order. The first volume was published from the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint in August 2013, and the latest eighth volume is set to be released on November 19, 2016. Its manga adaptation illustrated by Yostuba Makoto has been serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal since June of this year.
