Re:Zero, Kabaneri, and your name. win big during the Newtype Awards 2016

The Fall edition of the Machi Asobi event in Tokushima, Japan is also when Newtype Magazine holds its annual Newtype Awards, which lets fans decide which anime, characters, voice actors, studios, and anime staff did best during the year. The results of the voting were announced last night, and the winners are:

There you have it, the winners of the Newtype Awards, with Kabaneri, your name., and Re:Zero predictably winning major spots on top of several of the various categories.

Previously, Macross Delta was leading in the preliminary results for the TV anime, while Girls und Panzer der Film was in the lead for the anime movie.

Voting closed last September 14, 2016, and were conducted for the readers of Newtype Magazine. To be eligible to win the award, the works must be aired or screened between the periods of October 2015 and July 2016, so older works are not included.
