AKB48 idol, Rina Kawaei, will be appearing in the upcoming Death Note: Light Up The World live-action movie, however, fans will be seeing her like never before, as a serial killer who uses her Shinegami Eyes and Death Note to indiscriminately kill people. Now, we see her actually do it in a new clip from Natalie:
The three main characters of the film are comprised of the Death Note Unit’s “Ace Detective,” Tsukuru Mishima, played by Masahiro Higashide, as well as L’s successor, Ryuzaki, played by Sosuke Ikematsu. Rounding off the three main characters is Light’s fanatical follower and hacker, Yuuki Shien, played by Masaki Suda.
Based on Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s bestselling thriller manga, the film is set to premiere on October 29, 2016. The film’s story will be set 10 years after the events of the previous Death Note live-action films, which starred Tatsuya Fujiwara as Kira/ Light Yagami, and Kenichi Matsuyama as L. This means that the film will have an original story not found in the manga, anime, stage play, or the live-action TV series, and since the movie will be set 10 years after the first one, it will feature new characters. You can check out the three new leads through this link.
The new film will involve more Death Notes and Shinegami than previous adaptations, and will be directed by Gantz live-action movie director, Shisuke Sato. The film is slated to premiere in October 29, 2016.
