The official Shochiku YouTube channel has started streaming an extended trailer for the upcoming One Week Friends movie. The trailer includes several new footage, including Kaori and Yuuki’s first meeting inside a train.
The new trailer also features the film’s theme song, which is titled Kanade for Isshuukan Friends” by Sukima Switch. It is a new version of the band’s song, “Kanade”, specifically made for the film.
Much like the very-successful 2014 TV anime, the film will be based on Matcha Hazuki’s bestselling mangaYuuki Hase, who befriends an amnesiac girl named Kaori Fujimiya. Kaori has her memories reset every Monday, so their friendship also reset every Monday, which results to Kaori meeting Yuuki for the first time every Monday.
