Weekly Shounen Magazine has some sad news for fans of The Seven Deadly Sins, as its mangaka, Nakaba Suzuki, has recently undergone surgery and has been hospitalized. The magazine then released this announcement regarding Suzuki’s hospitalization and hiatus:

However, fret not, as the hiatus won’t last up to Hunter x Hunter proportions, as the manga is slated to return on January 18, 2017, inside the pages of Weekly Shounen Magazine’s Issue #7. They also announced that Suzuki’s condition is not that serious, and asked fans not to worry about him too much.

Suzuki himself wrote a message to his fans, and apologized for the hiatus. Suzuki also stated that he is only going on hiatus for the main series but will be continuing work on his mini-series/ side stories.
