January 1, 1987 is a date where manga changed forever, as Hirohiko Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure first made its debut in the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine. Now, for its 30th anniversary, there seem to be big plans, with plenty of huge celebrations for the franchise, as revealed in the pages of Ultra Jump magazine’s upcoming January 2017 edition.
The magazine revealed that the manga has now sold more than 100 million copies to date, as well as revealing that a new smartphone game app called Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records, is getting released on the same year as its 30th anniversary.
The magazine also announced that Steel ball Run, the seventh part of the long-running manga, is getting re-released in Bunkou format.
The magazine also talked about the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Live Action Film, which is based on the fourth part of the manga, Diamond is Unbreakable. They revealed that the film will be released on August 14, 2017.
Finally, they revealed the cover of Jojolion Vol. 14.
2017 seems like a busy year for Jojo, huh? That’s still plenty of time to get ready for all them Jojo releases, especially the movie!
