The live-action Gintama movie recently revealed its three leads in costume, and now, we finally see some of the very first footage from the film thanks to a new teaser trailer… which ends in the most Gintama way possible.
The video features Shun Oguri as Gintoki Sakata, Masaki Suda as Shinpachi Shimura, and Kanna Hashimoto as Kagura, and it starts with a serious note… and ends with Gintoki correcting Kagura about ticket prices in a superdeformed animated version. 4th wall broken.
Joining the wacky trio will be Masami Nagasawa as Tae Shimura, Masaki Okada as Kotaro Katsura, Tsuyoshi Muro as Gengai Hiraga, Yuuya Yagira as Toshiro Hijikata, Ryo Yoshizawa as Sougo Okita, and Kankurou Nakamura VI as Isao Kondo.
Previously, the domain name, Gintama-Film.com, was registered to Warner Bros. Entertainment. This sparked rumors of the live-action Gintama movie, and as it turns out, those rumors really are true. The film is slated to premiere in Summer 2017, with the the live-action Hentai Kamen’s Yuuichi Fukuda directing.
Photos of the live-action movie adaptation’s supposed movie set also surfaced in Kyoto.
