Squid Girl (Ika Musume) dances on your computer with new Charamin Store download

Love watching Ika Musume/Squid Girl’s titular star bop around in the opening to the anime series (episodes available on Crunchyroll here)?

Now there’s another way to make the lively Squid Girl dance on your computer screen.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume‘s main character collaborates with Charamin‘s newest version of OMP (onbu, or note), a musical analysis folder that allows you to select your favorite character and bring them to life by having them dance to the music of your choice.

The downloadable content is titled ダンスなんて簡単じゃなイカ!”ぱそこん”を侵略するでゲソ!, which translates to “Something like dance isn’t easy! Invade your computer with tentacles!” You can get it at Charamin’s store here

Here’s a demonstration of how it works!

The built-in media player, character player, and stage are free, provided to you by Charamin. However, the white dress Squid Girl is wearing in the demonstration is 473 yen, and you can upgrade your stage to a lemon beach side hut for 158 yen. Or, you could get both for only 525 yen.

Ika Musume or Squid Girl was pretty much a hit ever since the comic started serialization in 2007. Season one of the anime aired from October to December during 2010, which was followed the same time the next year with season two. It seems we just can’t get enough to Squid Girl, and her tentacles have wormed their way into our hearts.
