The first promotional video is finally out for the second season of Magi, and it offers a look at some of the characters we can look forward to seeing.
Magi may have ended its first season with Alibaba and Aladdin returning to Earth again after clearing another dungeon and the brief glimpse of Hakuryuu starting up his own kingdom, but it also promised some new faces in the coming conflicts. Just how much we’ll see of them is hinted at in the first promotional video seen below.

In the video, the ruler of the Kou empire and Sinbad can be seen in battle, while a third not yet named female ruler is also glimpsed. Alibaba seems to be set in middle of things, much like he was first season, though he now sports a different outfit. The real draw for the video is Aladdin showing off significantly more power than last season, and may have to do with his Solomon’s Wisdom ability. Using the rukh he summons three titanic figures, something he certainly wouldn’t have been able to do having barely been able to summon Ugo, though it does seem to be doing some physical damage.
The text in the video also gives an idea as to the scale the reverse-flow of fate plot will take the characters. It seems they will no longer be restrained to a small part of the map, but across the world as it states “The world and fate will shake.” The second season is now official titled Magi: The Kingdom of Magic and will begin airing on Sundays in October at 5 PM on TBS and MBS.
