Among all of the anime that have premiered this year, Attack on Titan may be the most popular. The show may not have come in with a lot of hype like some anime and we here at SGCafe have even branded it as a dark horse coming into the Spring anime season but the anime has proven it’s an anime popularity juggernaut time and time again.
Now, with the recently announced winners of the New Type anime awards held yesterday, October 13, 2013 during the Climax Run of Machi Asobi Vol. 11, Attack on Titan has proven its dominance of this year’s anime by winning a total of five awards (six if you count best studio as Wit Studio who produced the anime won it too).

Each of the three Mecha anime from the Spring season dominated the Mecha Design Awards with Majestic Prince’s unique designs topping both Valvrave and Gargantia.
All in all, congratulations to all the winners. Maybe next year we will have another epic anime dominate these awards
