Move over Odaiba’s 1/1 scale RX-78-2 Gundam because a new official life-size model from the classic mecha anime, Mobile Suit Gundam will finally be making its debut.
In the classic 1979 anime, the Gundam had to fight Zeon’s fierce mass-produced mobile suits, the MS-06 Zaku II. Now, a life-size Zaku II model will be making its debut as part of a special Gundam exhibit at the Nasu Highland Amusement Park.
The life-size Zaku II will serve as the main attraction for the amusement park’s Gundam 35th Anniversary Exhibition. However, the Zaku II won’t be standing up like the Odaiba Gundam but it will be placed inside a repair bay as the attraction is called the ”Zaku Repair Bay”.
The other attractions include a “timeline corner” which will contain several 1/10 scale models of several other mobile suits, a toy and GunPla exhibit, and a “Memorial Photobooth” which will include a Zeon Throne, a Cockpit and Char Aznable himself. There will also be several shops set-up which will sell exclusive Gundam merchandise as well as a Gundam Quiz. The set-up will be pretty much like the Gundam World 2014 exhibit with the life-size Zaku II added along with the “Memorial Photobooth”.
The new exhibit opened last March 1, 2014 and will stay on display until January 5, 2015.
