Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro still planning a video game team-up, it"s just not Silent Hills

When Japanese gaming legend, Hideo Kojima, had that nasty split with Konami, his collaboration project with Mexican director, Guillermo del Toro, Silent Hills, was immediately cancelled, thus disappointing fans all over the world. However, Konami might have cancelled Silent Hills, but the partnership between the two legends looks like it’s still not yet over.

The legendary Hell Boy II and Pacific Rim director recently sat down with IGN for an interview and there, he said that he and Kojima are still planning on something.

“I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be [Silent Hills].”

del Toro also talked about the cancelled Silent Hills game and said

“We were in the planning stages, and it’s a shame it’s not going to happen, “We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head. One of the great moments in Metal Gear [Solid] was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that.”

Silent Hills remains one of the biggest “What If?” questions in the history of gaming, and it is a big shame it had to end that way, however, with this new revelation by del Toro, fans are surely relieved, albeit still disappointed that it’s not Silent Hills.
