The Tanaka Jewelers have been known for creating statues of Godzilla and Saint Seiya’s Sagittarius Gold Cloth out of solid gold, and now, it seems that the Japanese jewelers have outdone themselves this time as they will be releasing models of the RX-78-2 Gundam, not only out of Gold, but silver as well!
These are not your gold-plated GunPla like the new 1/100 MG Hyaku Shiki Ver. 2.0, as these really are made out of gold or silver. They will be going on sale during the Art of Gundam Exhibition over at the Mori Art Center in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo from July 18 until September 27, 2015.
The gold “RX-78-2 GUNDAM Featuring ROBOT Spirits” uses 1,000 grams of solid gold and will be sold for a measly 20 million yen, while its silver counterpart, is a lot cheaper and only costs 648,000 yen. They will also be selling deformed versions of the RX-78-2 Gundam, also in either silver or gold. The “GUNDAM CONVERGE THE ART OF GUNDAM-LIMITED-ver.GOLD” costs 3,780,000 yen while the GUNDAM CONVERGE THE ART OF GUNDAM-LIMITED-ver.SILVER” costs 270,000 yen. The Gold and Silver Gundam Converge statues will also be sold over at the Ginza Tanaka store right after the exhibition is over.
But if you’re on a tight budget, don’t fret because the Tanaka Jewelers will also be releasing these platinum-plated Gundam cards worth 15,000 yen. Completely affordable, right?
