2015 is really shaping up to be quite the year for Bandai Namco’s God Eater video game franchise, however, they seem to have encountered a brief bump in the road for the anime adaptation.
Originally scheduled to premiere this July 5, 2015, the anime’s official website has announced that the premiere episode will be delayed for a week. Instead of the anime’s episode 1, a special “God Eater Extra” will be shown in its place and that the anime itself will premiere a week later. The staff apologized to fans for the delay and said that they want to give fans an anime they will be happy with.
An advance screening of the anime’s first episode was also scheduled but was later cancelled for circumstances related to production.
It would seem that ufotable, which produces the God Eater anime, is still unhappy with the premiere episode. But then again, the delay is just furthering the anticipation and makes fans expect a higher quality of animation from them. Hopefully, it all turns out great and God Eater will be worth all the hype
