Hollywood is making a live-action Tiger and Bunny movie

Superhero movies are the thing in Hollywood right now, and during the Sunrise & Bandai Namco Pictures panel in this year’s New York Comic Con (NYCC), it was announced that Sunrise’s very own superhero anime, Tiger and Bunny, is getting its very own Hollywood makeover with its own live-action movie adaptation.

The movie is part of a collaboration between Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment and All Nippon Entertainment Works and Bandai Namco Pictures. These companies will be responsible for producing the live-action movie, however, no director or script writer have been announced.

Like many superhero movies, Tiger and Bunny is set on a city based on New York city, and that city is called Stern Bild. Ron Howard, who has produced movies such as The Da Vinci Code, has said that “We had never seen a great buddy story bring together so many uniquely compelling elements.  Barnaby and Tiger are immensely dynamic characters, with a psychologically complex relationship with one another.”

But securing the rights to TaiBunny wasn’t easy as ANEW’s Annmarie Bailey explains, . “It was a Herculean team effort, but after actively pursuing the live-action rights, we are honored that the director Keiichi Sato, producer Masayuki Ozaki and the original creators have put their trust in us to share these much-loved characters to a whole new audience.” Namdai namco’s Masayuki Ozaki, who was also part of the panel, also adds “During the deal talks, our chief focus was to ensure continuing involvement by the original creators to maintain quality, and flexibility which would allow the original work to continue.”

So what do you guys think of the live-action TaiBunny movie by Hollywood?
