During a stage presentation at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2015 event, Dengeki Bunko light novel editor, Kazuma Miki, stated that A Certain series/ Raildex fans would have to wait longer for A Certain Magical Index season 3 and then he apologized to all the fans.
Near the end of the video, starting at 7:12:28, Miki stated that “Lastly, there is no season 3 yet for Index. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m very sorry.” and apologized to fans in the traditional Japanese way of bowing multiple times and then prostrating himself by groveling in the dogeza position.
Though he did it in a joking manner, Miki was serious about the fact that there were still no plans in making an Index season 3 yet. Fans were originally expecting for an announcement in last year’s Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival event, however, instead of Index 3 being announced, they announced that another one of Kazuma Kamachi’s light novels, Heavy Object, was the one getting an anime adaptation. Fans have been waiting for season 3 since 2011 when Season 2 ended, and hope was renewed in 2013 when the movie was shown.
Well, it does seem that Dengeki Bunko knows that the fans really want to see season 3, however, it also seems that we may be waiting a while longer to see it. Take note JC Staff, the fans are seriously waiting.
