Which anime songs make people want to dance? Charapedia ranks Top 20 AniSongs that make people hyped

Anime songs, or AniSongs, have a special place in the hearts of fans, and while some songs make fans just want to chill and listen to the beautiful lyrics and melody, some songs make people hyped up and want to move their bodies and dance. In Japan, that is described by the term, “ageage,” and for this week’s Charapedia poll, the Japanese anime chatacter database asked fans which AniSongs make them go “ageage.”

With their usual 10,000 votes,  52.5% of whom were male while 47.5% are female, here are the Top 20:

20.GO!GO!MANIAC (K-On!!)

19. ‘Kakushin-teki Metamarufōze! (Himouto! Umaru-chan)

18. This Game  (No Game No Life)

17. Sousei no Aquarion (Aquarion)

16. ta no Prince-sama Maji Love Revolutions (UtaPri)

14/15. (tie) IGNITE (Sword Art Online)

14/15. (tie) The Story You Don’t Know -(Monogatari series)

13. Makka Na Chikai (Buso Renkin)

12. Unravel (Tokyo Ghoul)

11. Namae no nai Kaibutsu (Psycho-Pass)

10. Maji LOVE 1000% (UtaPri)

9. Connect (Madoka Magica)

8. Sugar Song to Bitter Step (Blood Blockade Battlefront)

7. Pride Kakumei (Gintama)

6. Butter-Fly (Digimon Adventure)

5. God Knows (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

4. Guren no Yumiya (Attack on Titan)

3. Cruel Angel’s Thesis (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

2. Rising Hope (The Irregular at Magic High School)

1. Only My Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun)

Only My Railgun is considered one of the greatest AniSongs ever, and it is no surprise that fripSide’s now-classic AniSong was chosen as #1 as it has made a lot of people want to dance to its beat.

In an upset of sorts, LiSA’s Rising Hope from The Irregular at Magic High School upsets a song known in Japan for being “ageage”, Cruel Angel’s Thesis, which of course is one of the most popular AniSongs in history. Rising Hope also made an upset to Guren no Yumiya, Linked Horizon’s popular OP song for Attack on Titan, as well as Aya Hirano’s God Knows.
