Surprising results as fans choose the Top 20 anime they want to show to their kids

As kids, many of us grew up with amazing anime like Digimon Adventure 01, Zoids, Slam Dunk, and Dragon Ball Z, and more often than not, we would wish to have our kids enjoy these works as well. However, when Charapedia asked anime fans for their opinion on which anime they want their kids to watch, it yielded a few surprises.

With the usual 10,000 anime fans voting, 54.1% of whom identified themselves as male and 45.9% are female, here are Charapedia’s Top 20:

20) Madoka Magica

19) Pokemon

18) Little Busters!

15) Natsume’s Book of Friends

OK, we get a few of the anime in the list like Digimon Adventure (which I would recommend to my kids myself), One Piece, Naruto, Pokemon, and Doraemon, but Madoka Magica?! Wow, that is a surprise. The anime which won this poll, another Key tearjerker, ain’t really as surprising as the anime has been enjoyed by kids as well, however, some anime meant for older kids (seinen) like A Certain Magical Index may be a bit more surprising, but hey, at least there’s no High School DXD or To Love-Ru there, right?!

Long story short, parental guidance is advised for many of the anime which made it to the list.
