Most people prefer long hair, while others prefer short hair a lot more, and for this week’s Charapedia poll, the anime character database has asked 10,000 anime fans to vote for the female anime character with short hair, which they think is the cutest.
With the usual 10,000 votes, 59.9% of whom are male while 40.1% are female, here are what the poll’s Top 20 cutest female anime characters with short hair:

With her boyish charm, hyperactive nature, and lovable and positive personality, fans have voted Love Live!’s resident tomboy, Rin Hoshizora, as the cutest short haired female anime character, beating out fellow fan-favorite Mikoto. But she ain’t the only one to take the Top 10 from Love Live!, as her partner-in-crime and fellow first year member, Hanayo, eats her way to #10.
Mikoto, who fell short of the top spot, still remains one of the most popular “short hair” (as she’s called by Index) out there. The same can be said for #3 ranked Rei Ayanami, who is still very popular 20 years after the Evangelion was first introduced. Now that’s staying power!
