During the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2015 event, it was announced that Reki Kawahara’s bestselling light novel series, Sword Art Online, will be getting an animated feature film. The announcement video shown during the event has also been streamed.
The new Sword Art Online movie will feature a completely new and original story written by SAO creator Reki Kawahara. It will be animated once again by A-1 Pictures with Tomohiko Oto returning to direct as he did for SAO and SAO II. Shingo Adachi will be returning to make the character designs.
More announcements about the upcoming Sword Art Online movie, such as additional staff, cast, and release date, will be revealed in the days to come.
