After being announced waaaaaaaaaaay back in 2014, it looks like Junya Inoue’s action-survival manga, Btooom!, is finally entering that long-promised final arc. The manga’s Vol. 22 compilation release, which shipped out last January 7, announced that the next volume, Vol. 23, will feature the beginning of the end for the manga, as the final arc officially begins on that chapter.
Vol. 23 is slated for release in May. As for the final arc itself, Monthly Comic Bunch announced it back in March 2014 where they said it will begin in the next issue to be released on April of that same year. This has caused some confusion with a lot of the manga’s readers.
The story centers around Sakamoto, a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young man and a top-ranked player in the online combat game Btooom! One day, he wakes up on a tropical island without remembering how he got there. He sees a figure in the distance and asks for help. However, the figure responds by throwing something at Ryūta — a “BIM” bomb.
