The Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale movie is coming in with a ton of hype with that global release and all. Now, a theme park in Tokyo is even getting in on the act as Tokyo JOYPOLIS will be running a special collaboration with the upcoming anime film.
The collaboration is officially called “Gekijou-ban Sword Art Online -Ordinal Scale- – in JOYPOLIS Extra Stage Joypolis o Kouryaku Seyo!” or “Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale – in Joypolis Extra Stage Capture Joypolis!”. It is also part of the theme park’s 20th anniversary celebrations, and its attractions include a Sword Art Online-themed projection mapping laser show which will also play music from the anime.
The theme park’s Half Pipe Tokyo ride will also be going into the Sword Art Online spirit. The ride will be playing the theme songs from the TV anime, as well as the movie, and will also show scenes involving both Kirito and Asuna.
And speaking of Kirito and Asuna, they will be having their voices heard around the park, as they will also be greeting guests through recorded messages being played in several portions of the theme park.
Like all collaborations, there will also be SAO merch and snacks being sold inside the theme park.
Tokyo JOYPOLIS will be running the collaboration from January 21 – February 6, 2017. As for the Ordinal Scale movie itself, it will be premiering on March 9, 2017 in Japan.
