To promote the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin I: Blue-eyed Casval movie, which will hit Japanese and Southeast Asian cinemas this February 28, the Red Comet himself has found a very unlikely ally, the unofficial mascot character of Funabashi city, Funassyi.
During a live press conference held in Tokyo last February 24, the usually-yellow pear mascot donned Char’s signature red colors when it went out with Char Aznable and voice actress Megumi Han (Hunter X Hunter’s Gon Freecs and Rage of Bahamut’s Jeanne D’Arc), who voices Artesia Som Deikun in the movie.
What a weird combination indeed. Hopefully, Char also likes pears.
Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin I: Blue-eyed Casval will be the first of four movies and will be shown for a limited time in Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia on February 28. The movie will be taking a look at the origins of two of the original series’ most popular characters, Char Aznable and Sayla Mass. It also features some of the 1979 anime’s most recognizable Zeon characters like Gihren Zabi and Ramba Ral.
