Valentine’s Day may be over but some people are still a bit reeling. Previously, Japanese online shop, Otomate, has asked its customers which anime characters do they want to receive or give chocolates to on V-Day, now, Japanese anime website, animeanime.jp, has asked a similar question, however, they were a bit more specific as they asked which female character do people want to receive chocolates from on Love Day.
The poll had a total of 500 respondents, both male and female, and was conducted from February 10, 2015. Now, the results are out and here are the Top 10:
10) Rin Tohsaka (Fate series)
9) Chino Kafuu (Is the Order a Rabbit?)
8) Homura Akemi (Madoka Magica)
7) Aoi Miyamori (Shirobako)
6) Mikoto Misaka (A Certain series)
5) Mio Akiyama (K-On!)
4) Hitagi Senjougahara (Monogatari series)
3) Umi Sonoda (Love Live!)
2) Akane Tsunemori (Psycho-Pass)
1) Chiyo Sakura (Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun)
An excellent artist with all-around cuteness, it ain’t a surprise that Chiyo Sakura takes the #1 spot in animeanime’s ranking as this pint-sized high school illustrator has proven to be very popular to both guys and girls. Ranking #2 is another character who is popular to both genders, Akane.
In Otomate’s Valentine’s Day rankings, it was dominated by Love Live!, which took the Top 10 in the two rankings for male respondents. However, only one entrant from the idol series made it to Animeanime’s Top 10, and that is the often serious Umi Sonoda.
Two characters who are quite popular with guys, Hitagi and Mio, have taken the #4 and #5 spots respectively, rounding out the Top 5.
