Kantai Collection has now become one of the most popular franchises in Japan and it has inspired many artworks, especially in the Japanese online artist community of Pixiv. The game is currently played by over a million people, and with the new anime adaptation already becoming one of winter 2015’s hottest titles, more are expected to join.
A poll has been made in Pixiv, and people have voted on which KanColle Fleet Girl is the one which members thought is the cutest of them all. Here are the results:

Shimakaze, who has serves as the mascot character of sorts for the franchise, unsurprisingly wins this Pixiv poll which was conducted last year, which is an entire year before the anime adaptation is even aired. This begs the question that if this poll is done again at this time, will Shimakaze retain? Or will other characters popularized by the anime like Yuudachi, Poi her way to the top spot?
It would also be interesting to see how well the popular ships which are not yet featured in the anime would fare, like #2 ranked Tenryuu and #16 ranked Yukikaze. These ships are very popular and most fans and players have been asking why aren’t they featured in the anime yet.
