The Madoka Magica x Monogatari exhibition for Shaft’s 40th anniversary, Madogatari, has now arrived in Osaka for its second leg, and it revealed a newer and more updated version to the Madoka Magica concept movie, which a new MadoMagi anime might be built upon.
The new and updated version of the concept movie, known as the Type B concept movie, featured new cuts of Homura, Kyouko, Sayaka, and Mami, as well as replacing a few cuts.
The concept movie presents Madoka as a ballet dancer, with more active roles for the characters of Nagisa and Hitomi. The exact same team behind the Madoka Magica anime, as well as the movies, the Magica Quartet, are the ones behind this new concept movie. Magica Quartet is comprised of four of the biggest names in the anime industry, Director Akiyuki Shinbo (Monogatari), writer Gen Urobuchi (Fate/ Zero, Aldnoah. Zero), character designer Ume Aoki (Hidamari Sketch), and animation studio Shaft (Nisekoi, Monogatari).
The Madogatari event’s first stop was in in Tokyo from November 27 to December 2, 2015 at 3331 Arts Chiyoda before moving the show to Osaka’s Herbis Hall from December 22-27, 2015. It will then continue from February 9-14, 2016 in Sapporo. You can also check out which crossover goodies will go on sale for the event through this link.
