Odaiba may be be the home of the life-size RX-78-2, but Osaka certainly is giving a lot of flair for Gundam fans with the newly-opened Gundam Square, the very first official Gundam-exclusive shop in the Kansai region. Found at the EXPOCITY in Osaka, the Gundam Square is highlighted by one particular monument:
Standing at 5 meters tall, the monument is definitely nowhere near the scale of the Odaiba Gundam, which stands at 18 meters in height, however, both the RX-78-2 and the Char’sm Zaku II are presented in a more dynamic manner, which immortalizes the rivalry between their pilots, Amuro and Char.
Like the one in Odaiba, this monument also lights up at night:
The Gundam Square does not only feature Gundam-related merchandise, but it also contains a Gundam Cafe, just like the more famous ones in Odaiba and Akihabara, where they serve Gundam-inspired meals and beverages. It opened last November, and is now attracting visitors.
