Japanese animation studio, J.C. Staff (A Certain series, Shakugan no Shana) has announced that they will be animating Shinjirou’s action manga, Taboo Tattoo, which will be premiering in July 2016. The announcement was made in the manga’s 11th volume, and they also launched an official website and twitter page for the anime.
The official website also revealed that Shakugan no Shana, Slayers, and Heavy Object director, Takashi Watanabe, will be directing the series, with Golden Time’s Shinya Hasegawa doing the character designs, Mayori Sekijima and Masateru Ohtake handling the series composition, and Shinji Hosoe is composing the music.
The manga follows a “normal middle school student” named Seiji, who is very good at martial arts. One day, he saves an old man from some thugs, and he is rewarded with a special tattoo which grants him power, however, as it turns out, it has a few secrets of its own that everyone is after, including a mysterious girl with a tattoo of her own.
