It’s time to duel once again this April, because Yugi is back! To further hype up the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions anime film later this year, legendary Yu-Gi-Oh! mangaka, Kazuki Takahashi will be coming back for a special 2-part manga, which will be the first chapter after the original series ended its run in the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine back in March 2004.
Set between the events of the manga’s final chapter, chapter 343, and the upcoming film, the new “one-shot” will be released for the 19th and 20th issues of Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine, which will be released on April 11 and 23 respectively. The new story will serve as a bridge between the manga and the new film.
Scheduled for release on April 23, 2016, the movie has also been confirmed to have an international release sometime in late 2016. The film’s script and character designs will be handled by Yu-Gi-Oh! manga creator, Kazuki Takahashi, who also serves as the film’s chief production supervisor.The original voice actor for Yugi, Shunsuke Kazama, as well as the original voice actor for Kaiba, Kenjiro Tsuda, will be reprising their respective roles for the film.
