[VIDEO] 20 Years of Pokemon: New video explores the history of Pokemon

2016 marks the 20th anniversary of Pokemon, with a new movie, new products, a new fighting game in Pokken, and of course, Pokemon Sun and Moon, the latest generation of Pokemon games. To celebrate this milestone,  The Game Theorists YouTube channel recently discussed the franchise’s brief history with a new video:

The video discusses how Pokemon came to be, how Game Freak was founded and transitioned from being a gaming magazine to an actual company which produces games, to the release of Pokemon Red and Green for the Nentendo Game Boy back in 1996, the special Japanese edition of the Blue version, and Yellow version, and their Western releases in 1998 and 1999. The video then discusses the various sequels, from the second generation with Gold and Silver, all the way to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The video also discusses the various Pokemon spin-off games like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and even the upcoming games like Pokken and Detective Pikachu, and even Pokemon Go. Sadly, Sun and Moon were not discussed.
