After more than a year, World Trigger’s long and successful run will be ending this month, as the anime is set to be replaced with sports programs, as planned by the TV network airing World Trigger, TV Asahi.
The anime is currently running an original story/ filler arc titled Fugitive Arc/Toubousha-hen, and has been running since October 2014. Based on Daisuke Ashihara’s Weekly Shounen Jump! manga, the animation is being done by Toei.
Earlier, TV Asahi has announced plans to replace its morning anime bloc with a new sports programming bloc, and World Trigger will be one of the final anime series which will be aired during this time slot. The 6:30 anime programming bloc will be replaced by a program titled Sports Sunday.
