Eiichiro Oda: One Piece is still only 65% completed

One Piece has been going on for almost 20 years now, and people are still wondering when it might actually end. Well, it seems that we still have a loooooooooooong way to go, according to One Piece creator, Eiichiro Oda. The mangaka commented on the second issue of the “Dai One Piece Shimbun” that the manga is only 65% done!

He also added that he cannot do any more long stories besides One Piece. In a previous issue of One Piece Shimbun back in 2012, he said that the manga is only 60% done, which means that from 2012 – 2016, we’ve only gone through 5% of the manga’s story.

Oda launched the manga inside the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump! back in 1997, and it is still going strong. Since then, it has become a global phenomenon, with official shops outside of Japan, as well as having characters like Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and others becoming household names.
