Images from Netflix"s Live-Action Death Note"s filming reveal L in action

Netflix is adapting Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s Death Note manga into a live-action movie to be released via Netflix. Filming has already started in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and it shows actor Keith Stanfield, whose choice caused some controversy from fans, as L.

According to YVRShoots, a website tracking movie and TV filming, “The American adaption of Japanese manga Death Note filmed a Seattle Police press conference at the Vancouver Art Gallery”.

The film will be directed by The Guest’s Adam Wingard, while Jeremy Slater is penning the script. Netflix will be streaming the film in 2017. It will star Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns) as Light Turner (Light Yagami).


This will be the latest in the list of live-action adaptations to the classic manga, which includes a Japanese movie series, a live-action J-drama, and several stage musicals. The manga also inspired a much-loved anime adaptation.
