Look out K-On!, because another All-Girl Band Anime will be coming, and it is called BanG Dream!. This will not just be a TV anime, but is also planned to be a mixed media project, much like idol anime Love Live! and iDOLM@STER.
The band is called “Poppin’ Party”, and their members include:
- Aimi as Kasumi Toyama, vocals and guitar.
- Sae Ootsuka as Tae Hanazono, lead guitar.
- Rimi Nishimoto as Rimi Ushigome, bass guitar.
- Ayaka Oohashi as Saaya Yamabuki, drums.
- Ayasa Itou as Arisa Ichigaya, keyboard.
The multi-media project will also include music videos, manga, and live events. The TV anime will be animated by ISSEN x XEBEC, with Atsushi Ootsuki directing. It will follow High School student, Kasumi Toyama, who wants to become a “jukebox hero” after buying her star-shaped guitar from a second-hand store. The TV anime is scheduled to air sometime in 2017, and more details will be revealed in the days ahead.
