In cosplay events, cosplayers often get harasses sexually, and often, there are efforts like Cosplay Is Not Consent happening in many events out west. Because cosplayers have been targeted by sexual harassment, Secret Deodorant has launched a campaign about the issue:
Here’s a new scent for fighting stress sweat and personal space invasions. #StressTestpic.twitter.com/ne4JXebccm
— Secret Deodorant (@SecretDeodorant) July 22, 2016
The ad was timed with the San Diego Comic-Con, which hosted thousands of cosplayers from all over the world. However, the campaign has been met with some criticism, with many finding the ad to be a little inappropriate, and instead invites more harassers than discouraging them.
Even with plenty of criticism, and calls for the ad to be taken down, the official Secret Deodorant twitter page is still running it as of writing.
