Sanrio mascots like Hello Kitty and My Melody aren’t usually the first things you’d think when it comes to male fandoms. However, in real life, there really are guys who are into them, and Sanrio has launched a new project called Sanrio Danshi, which focuses on these Sanrio Mascot-loving guys. Now, that project is getting itself its very own TV anime!
The boys include (from left to right of the top image) Little Twin Stars fan Ryou Nishimiya, Pom Pom Purin fanboy, Kouta Hasegawa, Hello Kitty lover, Shunsuke Yoshino, My Melody fan, Yuu Mizuno, and Cinnamoroll fan, Seiichiro Minamoto.
Before the anime was announced, the project included several artworks, merchandise, figures, as well as a manga, a smartphone game, and a music CD.
More details about this new TV anime will be announced during the Sanrio Expo event this February 3.
