Space Battleship Yamato-themed airplane will be transporting passengers starting this month

Space Battleship Yamato is returning with a new series of movies titled Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love. Now, Japanese airline company, Skymark Airlines, is teaming up with the movie series for a special collaboration. It will feature one of their Boeing 737-800 aircraft wrapped with Space Battleship Yamato 2202 designs.

The airplane’s exterior will feature the Yamato itself, as well as Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori. And inside the Yamato plane, the cabin will feature Space Battleship Yamato-themed seats. The aircraft will also play the film’s soundtrack, including its own theme song, in the background. It will enter service starting February 25, 2017, and will be available for both domestic and international flights.

The collaboration also features Yuki Mori in a Skymark Airlines stewardess uniform.

The film’s staff previously released its latest trailer. You can check it out through this link.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love will be a 7-part series, much like the 2199 anime. The first part will premiere in Japanese theaters starting February 25, 2017.

The anime’s story takes place three years after the events of Space Battleship Yamato 2199, where Earth has signed a peace treaty with the Garmilas Empire. However, this has led to Earth’s militarization, which was against Starsha Iscandar’s wishes. And as a new threat known as Gatlantis looms, the Yamato and its new crew gets summoned for a new mission by the “legendary goddess” Teresa.
