The official live-action Fullmetal Alchemist twitter page has posted several new updates about the upcoming film. One of the biggest updates is that we finally have a clear look at the younger of the Elric brothers, Alphonse!
The actor voicing Alphonse has not been revealed yet, but we do know that he will be a fully CGI character. CG Al technology was used to create him for the movie.
The twitter page also revealed the film’s logo and release date. According to the tweet, the film will premiere in Japan on 1 December 2017.
The film will star:
- Ryousuke Yamada as Edward Elric
- Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell
- Ryuuta Satou as Captain Maes Hughes
- Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang
- Yo Oizumi as Major Shou Tucker
- Yasuko Matsuyuki as Lust
- Kanata Hongou as Envy
- Shinji Uchiyama as Gluttony
- Jun Kunimura as Doctor Marco
- Natsuki Harada as Gracia Hughes
- Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye
- Fumiyo Kohinata as General Hakuro
- Natsuna as Maria Ross
- Kenjiro Ishimaru as Father Cornello
- Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell
The film is directed by live-action Ping Pong film director, Fumihiko Sori, and was previously filmed in Italy. The Alphonse Elric for the film is CGI as well.
