According to the manga artist’s tweet, Chiruran: Shinsengumi Chinkonka is getting a TV anime, though he did not go into the details of it much.
The manga follows the story of the “Demon of the Shinsengumi”, the Vice Commander Hijikata Toshizou, and how he formed the famous samurai group, along with his relationship to the young swordsman, Kondo Isami.
The Shinsengumi may have been parodied in works like Gintama, however, the real historical group has remained one of Japan’s most notorious groups of swordsmen. They have been featured in many other anime titles, such as Rurouni Kenshin.
