Sony recently held a press conference where they announced two kinds of new PlayStation 4 consoles, the PlayStation 4 Pro and the PlayStation 4 Slim. The former will launch later this year, on November 10, 2016, and the latter will be released on September 15, 2016.
The PS4 Slim, which will cost US$299, will be the new standard model for the PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, the PS4 Pro will be a highly-upgraded version which will cost US$399. It boasts a 1TB hard drive, an upgraded CPU, and a boosted clock rate, and will be compatible with all PS4 games. However, it won’t be able to play 4K Blu-rays.
Because the PS4 Pro will have a higher resolution than the previous PS4 consoles, some games will play differently to be able to support that higher resolution. Sony also announced a new firmware update for the old PS4 models.
