It is one of the longest-running ongoing manga series today, and later this month, it will finally be ending. It was announced that Osamu Akimoto’s Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo, or KochiKame, will be ending its serialization on September 17.
The final chapter of this hilarious police manga will be included in the 42nd issue of Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine, which will be released on September 17. The manga has been serialized since 1976, and has enjoyed much success, including several anime adaptations and a live-action movie and drama, for 40 years. And you thought One Piece was long!
As for its creator, Osamu Akimoto has already said that he already has an idea for his next work, but he still hasn’t decided on its development yet.
The manga follows policeman Kankichi Ryoutsu in his misadventures. It is currently Weekly Shounen Jump!’s longest running series, and that is saying a lot since the magazine also features One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Naruto.
