Detective Conan is remaking its very first episode into a 2-hour special

Detective Conan is one of the longest-running anime shows in japan right now, but have you ever looked back to its very first episode? Because that is exactly what a new Detective Conan anime special will be all about, as it remakes the very first episode into a 2-hour TV special.

The new special is called Detective Conan Episode “One”: The Great Detective Who Shrank, and it celebrates 20 years of the Detective Conan anime. This was revealed in an advance look from the upcoming issue #42 of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, which also featured still images from the special, as well as a new key visual.

It will follow the story of how Shinichi Kudo shrank into the body of a child, becoming Conan Edogawa. It will be an extended look at the TV anime’s first episode, as it will add new material that was not previously featured in Gosho Aoyama’s original manga and the original anime’s episode.
