Today was Sea Day in Japan which means everyone was out and about having a good time, even the ever popular Pikachu as a giant 9 meter boon bounce Pikachu appeared in Kyoto. While in Kagoshima, the Pokemon company has also announced that a new Pokemon Store will be opening next week.
Sea Day, or Umi Day is usually a day for families to hit the beach and celebrate how important the sea is to Japanese life, but Kyoto had one attraction it put out for the eleventh year in a row to draw in crowds as part of Umifesta. It was a 9 meter tall inflatable moon-bounce…shaped like Pikachu.
One reason to travel next week is the newest Pokemon attraction opening up on August 1. There are currently eight Pokemon Centers throughout Japan catering to hard core fans, however a new Pokemon Store is opening in Kagoshima City in Kyushuu for the more casual crowd.
The store, which will be located at Amusement Plaza Kagoshima and will feature not only Pokemon plushies, but some unique goods as well.
Some of the unique goods include a Kagoshima station staff themed Pikachu plush and keychain.
There are also cookie tins featuring the store exclusive Pikachu, with Froakie, Fennekin and Chespin printed cookies inside.
Would you take a trip to Kyushu just to visit the new Pokemon Store?
