The not-so-surprising collaboration between Hideaki Anno’s classic mecha anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Hideaki Anno’s new kaijuu movie, Godzilla Resurgence, continues, and this time, convenience store chain, 7-Eleven is entering the fray with a brand new figure, featuring Mecha Godzilla donning Eva-01’s signature colors.
Using Bandai’s Movie Monster Series version of Mecha Godzilla (Kiryuu), 7-Eleven is distributing only 4,000 of these figures, which will be coming along with movie tickets that are pre-ordered in their convenience stores. Made of PVC, each figure measures in at 17cm in height and are scheduled for release on 29 July 2016. They are now completely sold out, as they went on sale last May 2.
Originally launched as a joke during April Fools’ Day, the collaboration has gotten a bit more serious with a Banpresto Ichiban Kuji collaboration.
