Hayate the Combat Butler! manga"s "Finale" to finally begin after almost 12 years

After almost 12 years of breaking the 4th wall, delivering gags, handing out a few fan service scenes, several unlucky moments, four TV anime adaptations, three OVA episodes, and an anime movie, Hayate the Combat Butler! is finally nearing its climax. This was announced in a wrap-around jacket for the manga’s Vol. 48 tankoubon compilation release.

According to the wrap-around announcement, “The long journey is ending. And so, the finale begins…”

Kenjirou Hata’s long-running harem manga has enjoyed over a decade of success, getting TV anime adaptations in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2013, as well as an anime film, and an OVA series, a feat that is very difficult to achieve in the cut-throat manga industry, which is known for the high level of competition, and series abruptly ending after just less than 10 chapters. The manga started serialization back in 2004, and has never looked back ever since, and is regarded as one of the most successful titles in Weekly Shounen Sunday, and that is speaking a lot.

So, what is your favorite Hayate the Combat Butler! moment? Mine would be the Mykonos Island arc, which in my opinion badly needs to be adapted into an anime. The arc, which centers around Athena, has only been teased in the anime adaptations.
